KEEP RACE NIGHT MOVING

A little help.

The quick answers for getting your room racing.

Do I need an account or an installation?

No. Open laps.bigtvgames.com in a browser and play. The online game needs an internet connection, including when everyone shares one computer. If you want a copy that works with no internet at all, the lobby’s Download latest offline game button saves the whole game as a single file: open it in a browser for Career and local play. It is always the current version, and a lap set there still reaches the record book when you are online.

How do friends on other devices join my game?

Everyone opens the same address, on a laptop or a phone. For a public room they pick your room’s name in the lobby. For a private room, tick Private when you create it and share the room link or its six-digit code, shown as two groups of three digits. Private rooms never appear in the lobby. A room seats eight trucks; anyone else can Watch.

Can I play from my phone?

Yes. Open the game on the phone and join the room like anyone else. The phone shows a close-up view that follows your truck, with thumb controls: left thumb steers, right thumb is the pedal, and there is a boost button. Tilt steering is optional, from the phone menu. In Lobs the phone becomes your slingshot. A phone drives its own truck; it is not a remote for a truck on the TV computer.

Where is my progress saved?

Career medals, unlocks and coaching history are saved in that browser on that device, under your driver name. To take them elsewhere, open Career and use Save progress file, then Load progress file on the other computer; loading merges, so an older file never erases a better medal. Record-book lap times are kept on the game server. Clearing the browser’s site data removes the local copy, so keep a saved file if your progress matters to you.

Can the room play without the internet?

The online game always needs its connection, even with everyone on one computer. The downloaded practice copy does not: it runs Career, CPU fields and up to four local players entirely on that computer. People on other devices cannot join a practice copy; use the online game for that.

What happens if someone disconnects?

The room keeps a dropped driver’s seat for about twenty seconds, so reconnecting promptly puts them straight back. If the game server itself restarts, its rooms end and you create or join a new one; your career progress and the record book are unaffected.

Why does the TV look delayed?

Check that the computer is connected directly by HDMI and try the TV’s Game Mode. People driving from the TV computer should be seated as players there. Watch is a spectator view and can run a moment behind the drivers’ own screens.

Why is the game silent?

Browsers wait for a click before allowing sound. Press SOUND in the game, then check the computer’s volume and that audio is going to the TV rather than the laptop speakers.

My controller isn’t recognised.

Click the game once and press a button on the controller; browsers hide a controller until it is used. Then check PLAYERS. If the layout is unusual, open PAD and map it in a minute. A controller paired to the TV itself is not connected to the computer running the game.

Privacy & external links

There is no account system and no advertising. To see how many people find the games and whether they stay to play, this site and the game use Google Analytics: it records which pages are opened, how you got here, your browser and device type, a rough location from your connection, and game events such as a room being created or a race finished. It never receives nicknames, invitation codes or anything you type. Google processes this on our behalf under its own terms; we keep it for 14 months and do not sell or share it. Most content blockers stop it, and Google offers an opt-out add-on. The game also saves preferences, career progress and reconnection information in your browser; clearing site data removes that local information.

Online play sends player names, room choices and game inputs to the game service. Players in the room can see your game name; public rooms appear in the lobby; a lap that makes the record book is published with the name you give it. Use a nickname and keep private invitations private. The hosting provider may keep connection and server logs.

The game includes links to controller shopping and BigTVGames. Following an external link opens another site with its own privacy practices. The supplied controller shopping link has no Amazon affiliate tag.
